Which coating is advisable to use for the interior surface of hopper cars?

For anticorrosion protection of the internal surfaces of hopper wagon cars, we recommend using the ARMEPOX® DTM 244 GF material, reinforced with glass flakes. The finished coating has high resistance to impact and abrasive loads.

During operation, the walls of a hopper wagon can be subjected to impacts during unloading. How does your coating resist impacts?

When unloading the tracked cargo, it is advisable to use vibratory unloaders, avoiding impacts against the wagon walls that damage the coating. Nevertheless, our coatings meet the requirements of GOST 7.409-2018 (CARGO WAGONS: Requirements for paint coatings and anti‑corrosion protection and methods of their control). The hardness of the paint coating under direct impact, 8.0 mm punch, is at least: 40.

Which material do you recommend for priming during repair painting of freight cars?

We recommend using the epoxy primer‑finish coating of mastic type ARMEPOX DTM 243 Mastic. The material has a high dry residue and is tolerant to surface preparation. It is applied when it is not possible or economically impractical to thoroughly prepare the surface.
